Online quiz predicts your risk of dying in the next five years

It's a tough question - will you die in the next five years?

A two-minute D.I.Y. questionnaire can predict your risk of dying within five years.

It is aimed at the middle-aged, and was developed after studying half a million people.

The questionnaire’s goal is to allow people to judge their health in private, and then help doctors identify who needs treatment.

The online survey can tell you how much certain lifestyle choices are affecting your lifespan.

Researcher Sophie Cassidy said the test is a powerful tool that will empower people to take better care of themselves.

The two-minute survey asks questions not only on your medical history, but also if you have suffered financial difficulties or gone through a divorce.

Men, not women, are asked about cars they own, or have access to - perhaps as an indicator of wealth - or a lack of walking.

Men are also asked how many people they live with.

Women are quizzed on how many children they have had and their mental health.

"There's a higher link with anxiety and depression in women and their health behaviours but I can't really go into that,” researcher Sophie Cassidy said.

Another objective of the test is to show people how they can improve their life span.

Besides obvious things, like cutting smoking and improving diet, the best thing you can do is to increase the pace of your walking.
