A competitor in the Boston marathon is seeking to find a stranger she kissed halfway through the race to complete a dare.

Barbara Tatge, 55, puckered up and kissed a random, good looking spectator half-way through and took a picture as evidence.

A challenge set by her daughter, Paige, and one Barbara successfully completed.

"That little kiss gave me wings on my shoes for the rest of the race," Barbara said.

Paige is now desperate to find the mystery man for her mother and has turned to social media for help.

"The response has been great so far," Paige said.

"I can't believe the responses from random people wanting my mom to find this man. It's been great."

Barbara admitted she was slightly embarrassed by the unexpected attention but also regrets not seizing the opportunity to take the man's number.

"I'd like to find out who he is, regardless of how this all turns out," she said.

"Am I kicking myself? Maybe just a little."

Paige described her mum as a 'risk taker' and said she was never in any doubt that Barbara would not successfully complete the dare.
