Baby elephant and mum reunited after four years apart
It was a heartwarming reunion between a mother and daughter who had not seen each other in four years.
At age three, baby elephant Me-Bai was taken from her mother’s side and sold into the Thai tourism industry. But after the trauma and stress of giving rides to tourists made Me-Bai too weak to carry them, she was released to Thailand’s Elephant Nature Park.
Once she was there, the park employees set out to find this little elephant’s mother, Mae-Yui. Within a matter of weeks, they were able to locate her.
After a three-day journey, the mother and daughter were reunited on Friday.
