The man who terrorised customers at the Lindt cafe in Sydney’s Martin Place was given VIP treatment by radical Islamic group Hizb ut-Tahrir at a presentation last year, according to reports.

The Daily Telegraph reported that Man Haron Monis attended a lecture Uthman Badar and Wassim Doureihi.
The lecture, which was held at Hizb ut-Tahrir’s Lakemba headquarters, was organized after Badar’s now speech ‘Honour Killings are Morally Justified' at the Sydney Opera house was cancelled.

The talk Monis attended reportedly included Badar and Doureihi criticizing the government, the West and the media.

During the lecture, Daily Telegraph columnist Andrew Bolt and Radio 2GB presenter Ben Fordham were singled out as “right-wing bigots.”

The speakers also highlighted the importance of “confrontation” with non-Muslims.

It has been three months since Monis held 18 people hostage in the Lindt cafe. He shot cafe manager Tori Johnson dead and Katrina Dawson died after being caught in the crossfire of the gun battle between Monis and police. Monis was eventually shot and killed by police.
