AFL grand final stripper says alcohol to blame
Heather McCartney, the Scottish model in hot water over her controversial corporate box strip at the AFL Grand Final, has revealed her motives.
The 26-year-old has told Triple M Melbourne’s The Hot Breakfast that she consumed too much alcohol and simply got carried away, denying she was paid to perform.
“I guess I got a bit carried away with all the free alcohol in the box,” she said.
“Everyone was making silly bets on the day so I thought I’d just up the ranks and go, ‘Well, I’ll get naked.’
“I don’t regret it but I’m sorry for offending anyone.
“It was a silly thing to do, I guess, and I can see how it’s been blown out of proportion, but I had a great time.”
After being lucky enough to score free tickets on the morning of the match, McCartney says she was caught up in the moment.
“I was just so lucky. That morning I got a ticket for me and one of my friends.
“Once I got there I was just caught in the moment. I’d never been in a corporate box before or at a grand final.”
From the comfort of a corporate box McCartney performed an explicit post-game show for a group of friends.
Police finally stepped in after she tried to climb out of the corporate box’s window, completely naked.
“The people (in the boxes around her) didn’t seem to be that annoyed,” McCartney said.
“I didn’t expect it to happen. It was impulsive.”
She allegedly lashed out at police who tried to arrest her shortly after the final whistle at the MCG.
Resisting arrest, she abused, hit out at, and bit police.
“F--k off, I don’t have to tell you anything. You f---ing retard,” she shouted before assaulting one of the officers. She then attacked another officer with a high heel.
McCartney was fined $300 without conviction.
