Wind blows child's pram onto tube tracks moments before train arrives

A sudden gust of wind created a heart-stopping moment when it sent a toddler strapped into its pram flying onto tracks at a London Underground station.

The security vision, released by British Transport Police, shows a man placing the baby in its stroller at the base of the Tube station's stairs.

He leaves to help other family members when a gust of powerful wind blows the pushchair through the station and onto the train tracks.

A commuter wearing headphones fails to notice the danger.

Moments later, a woman, believed to be the child's mother, leaps on to the tracks to rescue her child, with just seconds to spare before the train arrives.
