Kerr splits from Bloom

Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom have split after three years of marriage.

"In a joint statement, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have announced that they have been amicably separated for the past few months," a representative for the British actor said in a statement, reported on the E! News website.

"After six years together, they have recently decided to formalise their separation," it said.

The couple are parents to two-year-old son Flynn.

Rumours that their marriage was on the rocks have swirled for months.

"Despite this being the end of their marriage, they love, support and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family," the statement said.

Kerr, who originates from Gunnedah, NSW, is one of the world's top 10 supermodels.

In 2012, she was ranked the world's seventh highest-paid model by Forbes.

Kerr, 30, and Bloom, 36, started dating in 2007 and married in an intimate ceremony in 2010.

Kerr has recently appeared on the runways at Paris Fashion Week, while Bloom is starring in the Broadway production of Romeo and Juliet with Condola Rashad.

The couple's last public appearance was at the opening of the production in mid-September.
