With the movies nominated for 2024 Oscars officially announced, films like Oppenheimer and Poor Things were clear favourites, while the popular Barbie movie saw some significant snubs.
Oppenheimer led nominations with 13 nods, including the Best Picture category, while Poor Things was close behind with 11 nominations.
While Barbie is in the running for Best Picture, Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie were notably left out of the Best Director and Best Actor categories, respectively. Similarly, Celine Song's film Past Lives is in the running for Best Picture, but the director and the film's lead actors, Greta Lee and Teo Yoo, did not receive nominations.
