14-Foot Human 'Bin Chicken' Puts Out the Rubbish in Bendigo, Victoria

One man in Bendigo, Victoria, took the craze of donning a costume while taking out the rubbish during COVID-19 lockdowns to the next level, transforming into Australia’s native white ibis — nicknamed the “bin chicken” — for a bin outing on April 30.

Brad McDonald told Storyful that it took him about five hours to make the 14-foot ibis costume out of recycled and reusable materials.

This video, posted to the Bin Isolation Outing Facebook page, shows the creation — worn by McDonald — pecking at the bin in the yard before grabbing the rubbish receptacle and wheeling it into the driveway. “Bloody bin chickens!” McDonald’s wife, Alycia, can be heard saying in the background.

McDonald told local media that he was new to his street, and his bin chicken outing was the first time he had met many of his neighbours.
