Family of missing mother Karen Ristevski make impassioned plea for information

The family of missing Melbourne mum, who vanished two weeks ago, are pleading for people to come forward because "somebody knows something out there".

Karen Ristevski, 47, was last seen at her Avondale Heights home about 10am on June 29.

It's believed the mother left the home to get some fresh air at 10am after a heated argument over financial issues with her husband, Borce Ristevski.

Patrice, the aunt of missing Ms Ristevski, has made an impassioned plea and told media that "somebody knows something out there”.

"It is not possible someone disappears like this," she said.

Neighbours claim they never saw Ms Ristevski leave her home at that time.

Two dozen emergency crew members, including Missing Person Squad detectives and the Special Solo Unit searched public land spanning 60 hectares.

Water Police and SES crews scoured the Maribyrnong River for clues and potentially a body.

Police are expected to widen their search on Friday.

Concerns grew for Ms Ristevski after she didn’t show up to work at Bella Bleu boutique, the store she owns, located at the Watergardens Town Centre in Taylors Lakes.

Family and friends said her disappearance is out of character and she hasn't used her phone or accessed her bank accounts since disappearing.

Friend and TV personality Samuel Johnson has described the mother as a community champion who is universally loved.

Investigators spoke with her 52-year-old husband last week as part of the ongoing investigation into Ms Ristevski's disappearance.

Mr Ristevski was unable to provide any answers to where Karen went after their argument and was released pending further inquiries.

Police have also searched the couple's home and surrounding areas.

The missing mother was last seen wearing a black jacket and jeans and it is believed she had a Coach handbag and a Coach purse with her.

Karen Ristevski is as 160cm tall, slim build, and has shoulder-length brown hair.
