Paramedics were also called to Bondi Beach when a female swimmer was spotted unconscious in the waves.

The Brisbane mother had been swimming outside the flags at the popular beach when she was swept out with the current.

One local beach goer, Patrick Davis who witnessed the incident, reported to 7News “she passed out, obviously the current and sweeping sands.”

For this lucky family, first responders were successful at reviving the mother at the scene.

Rushing in for a hug, her daughter visibly upset after witnessing the incident.

“I think there should be a sign that says, don’t swim here, instead of just dangerous current,” said Mr Davis.

As the mercury continues to rise, NSW Ambulance warns these are scenes we could continue to see.

NSW Ambulance spokesperson, Jacquie Kibble said: “We are anticipating a 10 per cent increase in our triple-0 zero volume.”

This amounts to a rise of around 300 extra calls for help each day.

Six people have drowned since the start of December, with emergency services deeply concerned about what's to come as Sydney is set to face more hot temperatures this summer.

“Be drinking water, even if you are not feeling thirsty and have access to water when you are leaving your house,” said Ms Kibble.
