Brandon Ogilvie has been added to the CDL Promotions show at the WA Italian Club next month where the 20-year-old will get the chance to appear alongside one of his boxing idols.

Ogilvie will have his first fight since his third-round stoppage win over Jerope Mercado on August 1 after withdrawing from last week's Dragon Fire card at Metro City.

And a bonus for Ogilvie is that unbeaten Paul Fleming is also in action, with the 2008 Beijing Olympian returning after taking 19 months off while his wife completed her studies.

"This is a really good fight card and a good venue and it's great having Paul Fleming on it," Ogilvie said.

"He's one of my idols in boxing, he's really skilful and a good role model."

Ogilvie will fight at lightweight on the November 21 show, probably over eight rounds, although the aim is for him to eventually drop down to super-featherweight.

He is also back with his original trainer Peter "Fox" Wilkenson in Gosnells, after a six-month spell with Balcatta-based Craig Christian.

"I didn't fight on the Dragon Fire show last week because I didn't feel fit enough," Ogilvie said.

"I went and spoke to Craig and told him with the travelling and that, it was proving too much and that I'd had a run with him but thought it was time to return to Fox's.

"There was no problem, it's all good between us. He showed me a lot of things and I learnt a lot.

"But it's also a great feeling to be back at the gym with Fox, and all the people I used to train with."

Ogilvie (8-1) had three fights under Christian, including one in China, which followed his first career loss to John Ford last December.

Wilkenson said Ogilvie will likely back up from the CDL show with an appearance on Dragon Fire's next Thunderdome card on December 5.

He will then take a break to celebrate his 21st birthday on December 9 and Christmas, before looking at a run for the Australian super-featherweight title next year.

As well as Ogilvie and Fleming, the CDL card will have Erin McGowan taking on Arlene Blencowe for the WIBA lightweight belt and Nathaniel May fighting an eight-rounder.
