Cooper flies out without agreement

In-demand Quade Cooper has left for South Africa with his Wallabies teammates with his future still up in the air.

The five-eighth is weighing up whether to sign a new deal with the Australian Rugby Union or jump codes and take up a big money offer from NRL club Parramatta.

But as Australia departed for a two-Test tour of South Africa on Friday no decision had been made about the Queensland star's destination next year.

Wallabies coach Robbie Deans says he isn't concerned his playmaker still hasn't made a decision, but admits he's looking forward to the focus shifting off Cooper when Australia lands in Africa.

"It (Cooper's future) hasn't been to prevalent in our day-to-day work to be honest," Deans told reporters at Sydney Airport.

"Quite clearly it'll be less so in South Africa, so yeah, it'll be good just to get over there.

"It'll be easy for the whole group, including Quade obviously, to concentrate on the job at hand."

The Wallabies take on the world champion Springboks in two Tri-Nations Tests, with the first encounter at Pretoria's Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday, August 28 and the second Test in Bloemfontein the following Saturday.
