Cox escapes broken jaw after Vickery hit

West Coast ruck ace Dean Cox suffered "no structural damage" after he was blindsided by Richmond's Ty Vickery in Friday night's AFL game at Paterson Stadium.

Cox knocked out in the first half after being punched unawares by Richmond's Ty Vickery during the Tigers' 17-point win.

Cox, who will retire at the end of the season, left the field with concussion and was subbed out of the match.

"Structurally he is OK, just the concussion last night is all he got away with," Rawlings said.

Vickery could be banned for the rest of the season for the hit.
