Ex-Glory favourite Dadi linked with Tranmere return

Former Perth Glory striker Eugene Dadi has been linked with a return to English League One club Tranmere Rovers.

Dadi, who was a crowd favourite during the 2008-09 season with Glory, scoring 10 goals in 16 appearances, has contacted Rovers boss Les Parry regarding a possible return to Prenton Park.

"I had a phone call on Saturday from Eugene wanting to come back. So I'm talking to him at the moment," Parry said. "That would be an interesting one."

Dadi was a big hit during two seasons with Tranmere under Brian Little, forming a successful partnership with fellow striker Iain Hume, before moving to Nottingham Forest in 2005 and then on to Notts County.

He had an unhappy spell in Israel before joining Glory where his dreadlocks and eye for goal earned him the appreciation of the club's fans.

But he fell out with coach Dave Mitchell last season and joined Glory's A-League rivals Wellington Phoenix, who he helped reach the finals series before being released.

Parry stressed he had not entered into serious discussions with Dadi and revealed he was not even sure of the former Ivory Coast international's age.

"I think he's about 34 now," Parry said of a player who is 37 next week.
