Telethon will be the major winner from the Black Tie on the Timber auction to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Busselton Jetty.

The auction will be a major fund-raiser as part of the jetty celebration to be held on Friday, January 23, at the end of the iconic structure.

Six items will be up for grabs, valued at more than $10,000 and donated by six supporting businesses.

Telethon will be the sole recipient of all money raised from the auction which organisers hope will result in a much-needed $10,000 for the charity. Fusion Jewellers have donated a pendant made in 18ct white-and-yellow gold consisting of pink argyle diamonds and white diamonds and one white south-sea pearl for the prestige event. Emerging artist Simon Hemsley has donated a $2000 artwork for auction and photographer Phil Hollett will donate a $1200 stretched canvas featuring a picture of the Busselton Jetty.

Aravina Estate is also on board with a dinner for a group of friends to the value of $600 and Injidup Spa Retreat has donated a $1300 prize for two nights accommodation for two people with a bottle of wine and gourmet breakfast hamper on arrival. VIP tickets to OzRock will also be up for grabs, valued at $600, for the following night's event in Busselton.

Hollett told the _Times _ as a proud sponsor of Black Tie on the Timber he was pleased to contribute to the Telethon auction.

He said the image he would donate had been used to market the event and captured the night time "celebration", with the fading twilight colour on Geographe Bay and the jetty.

"The jetty is such an important part of Busselton's identity and the fact it has been kept in such good condition and restored should be celebrated," he said.
