The temperature reached almost 40 degrees at about midday today, as Bunbury joins the rest of the State in the heatwave.

It has been a warm start to the New Year for the region, with a top of 32 recorded yesterday before the heat came in this morning.

The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting no end to the heat either with the rest of the week set for temperatures in the mid-30s and high 20s.
