Dawson not quitting top model

Charlotte Dawson has quashed rumours she’s leaving TV for a career as a real estate agent.

The former model and media personality, who was hospitalised last year after being bombarded with vicious Twitter messages, is currently a judge on the Foxtel reality TV series Australia’s Next Top Model.

Reports earlier in September suggested Dawson intended to quit show business for a quieter life as a real estate agent because of the trouble she has faced working in the public eye.

Today, however, Dawson told Southern Cross Austereo she had been merely working as a PR and marketing consultant for a property agency and had no plans of leaving TV.

"I don’t know where ’agent’ came from," she told The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

"I’ve been working in media for the best part of 15 years, nearly two decades. Why would I turn my back on something that I love and that’s my skill?"

She said while her five-year contract with Foxtel has not been renewed, she would welcome a return to her role as a judge on the modelling series if it was recommissioned next year.

"What that means is that I’m not quitting television, it means I’m no longer on contract with Foxtel exclusively.

"I’ve got options to do other things, so I’m doing another book.

"I certainly am going to try other things, like the PR and marketing."
