Teen's death shatters family

The next-door neighbour of a 13-year-old boy killed when his trail bike was hit by a car in Bindoon has described his panic as he saw the tragedy unfold.

Jordan Walmsley had been riding his motorbike at Daniel Price's property on Sunday afternoon minutes before he was struck by a Nissan Murano at a T-junction on Mooliabeenee Road.

"I had to go and get some tools from a neighbour, so I drove my ute to our front gate. I told Jordan I would be back in two or three minutes," Mr Price said.

"I drove down the road and the next thing I knew I looked to the left and saw him coming past me. I looked to my right and saw a car coming down the hill," he said.

"My eyes followed the car and as I was watching it, Jordan rolled out and there was a bang."

Mr Price called triple-0 and people nearby rushed out in an effort to revive the boy.

"There was nothing we could do," Mr Price said.

Jordan's devastated father flew home from a Pilbara mine site to join his grieving family.

A statement he issued last night said the family "loved him immensely". "We will all miss him," his father said.

Jordan, the eldest of five children, was described by friends yesterday as a clever boy who loved animals.

He finished second in a cattle-handling competition at the Perth Royal Show this year.

Police said Jordan's view might have been obstructed.

Cheryl Porter said she wrote to Main Roads four years ago after her daughter was nearly involved in a crash at the same location.

Ms Porter said she wanted the 110km/h speed limit in the area reduced because of the "blind hill" leading up to the section of Mooliabeenee Road where Jordan was killed.
