81-year-old hurt in hit-run smash

An 81-year-old woman has serious injuries after a hit-and-run crash in Joondalup yesterday afternoon.

A police spokeswoman said the crash happened about 4.15pm when a stolen Mitsubishi Magna collided with the victim's Audi on Moore Drive near Blue Mountain Drive.

The collision caused both vehicles to spin to the eastern side of the intersection, the stolen Magna then striking a power pole before the driver allegedly fled the scene.

The woman was taken to Joondalup Health Campus and was transferred to RPH last night with serious injuries.

This morning she was in the RPH trauma unit in a stable condition.

The stolen Magna was found last night burnt out on Glasshouse Drive in Banksia Grove.
