Worker burnt in paint blast

A man is being treated for burns after an explosive fire at a High Wycombe business.

It is understood fire crews called to the scene were told a drum of paint thinner exploded. The resulting fire had burned itself out before firefighters arrived at the Abernethy Road property.

Paramedics treated the man at the scene before transferring him to Royal Perth Hospital. The extent of the man's injuries are unknown but he is in a stable condition.

WorkSafe will be asked to investigate. Firefighters were called about 12.30pm.
