Rifle shots were allegedly fired into a house in Port Kennedy after an argument escalated, say police.

A 24-year-old Safety Bay man has been charged over the alleged shooting at a house in Perth’s southern suburbs yesterday.

A police spokeswoman said shots were fired at a house in Reims Lane, Port Kennedy after an argument escalated about 3pm yesterday.

She said two men, who knew each other, were involved in a verbal dispute when the 24-year-old discharged a rifle.

Bullet holes were allegedly found in the front door and garage door of the home.

The spokeswoman said the 24-year-old left the scene in a car and was arrested at a Warnbro service station.

He has been charged with discharge a firearm to cause fear, going armed in public to cause fear, possessing a firearm in circumstances of aggravation and possessing an unlicensed firearm and ammunitition.

He is due to appear in Rockingham Magistrates Court today.
