UPDATE: A man is believed to have lost a foot and suffered a serious injury to his other foot in a boating accident off Rockingham.
The man’s vessel sent out a distress call from about 100m offshore from the Rockingham Yacht Club just before 5pm.
A police spokesman said the initial report indicated that the accident involved a rope.
The RAC rescue helicopter, water police and mare rescue volunteers attended the scene.
