Great-grandmother savaged in dog attack

FIRST ON 7: A great-grandmother has told of the terrifying moment she was attacked by two dogs in Brisbane.

Dolores Flanagan was walking her pet poodle ‘Lucky’ when she was set upon by two staffies in Regents Park, Logan, on Friday.

The dogs mauled Dolore’s four-legged companion, who she has walked every day since her husband died two years ago.

"Oh that poor little doggy. I don't know how he was left in one piece,” Dolores told 7News.

“He was traumatised. He didn't know. He just stared into space."

Dolores was pulled to the ground in the attack and also injured.

"I'm trying to keep hold of my little dog, terrified that if I let go they'd take off with him,” she said.

Lucky was badly injured in the attack.

The dogs, who were off leash at the time, were scared off by a stranger.

Lucky’s leg was badly damaged and may have to be amputated.

Dolores is now six thousand dollars out of pocket because of his vet bills.

"He's the dearest little fella and gosh I miss him,” she told 7News.

Dolores doesn't want the staffies put down, but wants to make sure another attack doesn’t happen.

"They're savage. Who are they going to attack next?"

"Can you imagine if it was a little child?"
