Daughter of Cairns accused still 'loves Mum'
The daughter of a Cairns woman accused of killing eight children has taken to social media to declare she still loves her mother.
Raina Mersane Ina Thaiday, also known as Mersane Warria, 37, is facing eight counts of murder after the bodies of the four boys and four girls were discovered in a home in the suburb of Manoora on December 19.
Seven of the victims were Thaiday’s own children, while the eighth was a niece.
The Manoora home is set to be demolished while the family has said the eight children will be laid to rest together in the New Year.
Thaiday’s daughter Norena Warria posted to Facebook on Christmas Day declaring her love for her mother.
Thaiday remains in custody in hospital where she was being treated for stab wounds.
She is set to face Cairns Magistrates Court on January 30.
