Missy Higgins finds love in Broome

Has Missy Higgins found love in Broome?

The multi-ARIA award-winning singer is confirmed to be dating local playwright and comedian Dan Lee.

For the past few months, the couple have fuelled rumours of a blossoming romance after they were spotted together at various social events, publicly displaying their affection.

The Bran Nue Dae star was recently seen in the arms of Lee at the opening of a local art exhibition.

Lee confirmed to AAA yesterday they were spending time together and were "enjoying" themselves.

The comedian said he had known Higgins "for a little while" and met her through mutual friends in Broome.

Higgins performed earlier this year at Broome's iconic Sun Pictures with Lee and his band, the Cable Bitches. Lee denied they were living together in Broome and remained tight-lipped on further details of their relationship.

However, it appears Higgins has now found a reason to prolong her stay in the northern WA town, a place she calls her "home away from home".

For the past eight years, Broome has been a frequent refuge for the singer to escape the pressures of the music business.

Earlier this year, Higgins performed her first ever live gig in Broome at the Sun Pictures, telling local reporters it felt like the "right time" to play.

Her relationship with Lee also appears to have put to rest ongoing speculation about her sexuality. In 2007, she revealed she was "not straight" and admitted having previous relationships with men and women.
