Caught on 'candied camera': Store attendant fights off would-be robber with lollies

Security cameras captured a NSW service station attendant scaring off a would-be robber by throwing several handfuls of lollies at the man as he tried to enter the shop.

A balaclava-clad thief tried to enter the BP service station in Aberdare on Sunday morning.

The offender was greeted at the door by the shopkeeper who picked up several handfuls of lollies to defend himself.

He first threw the tub holding the sweets, which hit the robber and ricocheted back into the servo.

The weapon of choice appeared to be of the pick-n-mix variety, which were in large supply right next to the entrance.

The crook got scared and fled the scene with a two accomplices in a black Hyundai i30.

The vehicle was found burnt out near the scene and police are currently searching for three men involved.
