Horrific moment US cop punches girl in face
A shocking video of the moment a US police officer punches a young girl in the face during an arrest in Arizona has been posted online.
Officer Jeff Bonar has since been put on leave after the video showed him hitting the woman, according to NY Daily News.
The US cop was arresting the woman in Flagstaff, a city in Arizona, and there was a brief tussle. The officer then suddenly punched the woman straight in the face.
“You can’t hit a girl like that,” someone shouted after the punch.
Bonar then repeatedly told the woman if she doesn’t get on the ground he will taser her.
Police tried to arrest the woman on an unspecified warrant, and tensions escalated when she began asking to see it and arguing that there was no warrant, according to local media reports.
Flagstaff Police Chief Kevin Treadway told local media the warrant had already been served and was no longer valid.
The Flagstaff Police Department told reporters they are “very concerned by what is depicted" in the video and have started an internal investigation.
The woman ended up being arrested for assault and resisting arrest, the NY Daily News reported.
