150kg tuna reeled in off Victorian coast

A young couple have reeled in what’s believed to be one of the biggest tuna ever caught in Victoria.

Robert Adamo and Amy Jobson were fishing off the coast near Portland when they felt something pulling on their line.

The moment was captured on camera as the two struggled to pull up the 150kg Bluefin tuna.

“To get it 150 was really incredible and topped our year off,” Mr Adamo said.

The couple weren’t the only anglers to come up trumps off the Victorian coast.

Father and son Harry and Will Meilark were on a birthday fishing charter when they reeled in two giant catches.

“I got the tuna to the boat five times before we actually got it on the boat, we when we did, I was drained,” Will said, of their 130kg catch.

“It was something incredible to see and an incredible size fish,” dad Harry added.

Experts say an abundance of bait fish is behind the big catch, with more expected in the coming weeks.
