Farmer rescues baby alpaca stuck neck-deep in badger hole

A thoughtful Wisconsin farmer has rescued a crying baby alpaca that somehow found itself stuck down a badger hole.

A video of the rescue captivated the crew at WISN 12 News, who said they couldn’t take their eyes off the rescue mission once they started watching it.

Only the neck and head of the restless little alpaca can be seen emerging from the hole, as the farmer digs around it to try and create more space.

While the alpaca whimpers and moans, an adult alpaca, presumably its mother, watches on and anxiously paces by the hole.

Finally, the farmer makes enough room to pull one of the little one's legs out and then drags the baby alpaca to freedom.

“Bet you didn’t know that’s how alpacas were born,” the farmer quipped, before the two alpacas jotted off into the field.
