Teen girl’s jaw broken and teeth dislodged during violent attack

EXCLUSIVE: A teenage girl’s jaw was broken and her teeth dislodged during a violent attack from a man she was secretly in a relationship with for nine months, police will allege.

7 News can reveal the 15-year-old, who was reported missing by her parents last week, has undergone surgery over the weekend for bleeding on the brain and injuries to her jaw.

Detectives from the Brisbane Inner West Child Protection Investigation Unit allegedly found the girl hiding under a bed at a home in Murarrie on Good Friday.

A 32-year-old man was arrested at the scene and police charged him with child stealing and breaching a domestic violence order from a previous relationship .

He appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Saturday and was remanded in custody after police objected to his bail.

Further investigations allegedly found the girl had been secretly seeing the man, who is also a former neighbour, for the past nine months.

Detectives also allegedly seized the man’s iPhone and found a video of him committing a sexual act on the girl.

The man was given a summonses to appear on a further six charges including grievous bodily harm, three counts of unlawful carnal knowledge and indecent treatment of a child.

7 News has also learned police are considering laying domestic violence related charges against the man.

The man will appear in the Brisbane Magistrate’s Court on April 24.
