Man charged following violent Gold Coast school brawl
A Coomera man has been charged following a violent school-yard brawl on the Gold Coast.
Several teachers were allegedly hit during the massive fight involving an allegedly armed man and a number of students from Pacific Pines State High School.
Two people were arrested as a result of the fight, which broke out about 3pm Tuesday.
The brawl began after a man allegedly armed with a torque wrench arrived on the school grounds.
Police were quick to arrive and arrested one male student, 16, and his older brother, 29.
They said officers responded to reports a man was armed with a bad, however they arrived to find a large amount of students fighting.
Some students left the brawl with facial injuries.
Many of the brawlers were yet to be identified.
A 29-year-old man has since been charged with one count of going armed to cause fear, possession of a knife in public and driving while under the influence.
He will appear in Southport Magistrates Court on November 3.
