A Jordanian woman claims a doctor accidentally left his mobile phone inside her while delivering her baby, the Daily Mail reports.

Hanan Mahmoud Abdul Karim gave birth to a healthy baby boy via Caesarean section on April 24.

She was discharged from hospital after recovering from the procedure.

Not long afterwards, however, the 36-year-old complained of having stomach pains and her family says they noticed her stomach vibrating.

“My daughter suffered serious pains and could not move,” her mother told local media.

“I brought her back to the hospital where she was treated but nothing was done for her.”

After being taken to a different hospital, X-rays reportedly revealed the young mother had a ‘foreign but unspecified object’ inside her, which was immediately removed.

The Jordanian Health Ministry has hit back at the claims, labeling them “baseless” and “fabricated.”

But the accusations have promoted some calls for the government to resign.

“In countries which show respect to their nations, and following such scandals, governments usually resign,” politician Salim Al Bataynah said in parliament recently.

“The parliament should show responsibility and be on the level of the case.”
