Men use axe to smash Murray Bridge store entrance, steal motorcycles

Three men have been caught on camera smashing the entrance of a shop and stealing three motorcycles in Murray Bridge, about an hour east of Adelaide.

CCTV footage shows the men using an axe to smash a glass door before wheeling three off-road motorcycles out of the store and onto a trailer just before 3:30am (ACDT) on Tuesday.

The men then left in an older model white Holden Commodore sedan before escaping, but one of the bikes fell from the trailer and was left abandoned on the road.

Police said they were alerted by an alarm activation at Bridgeland Motorcycles on Adelaide Road but arrived too late.

Both bikes stolen were yellow Suzukis and together are valued at about $15,000.
