Man suffers burns fighting SA grassfire
A farmer is fighting for his life in hospital after being badly burned in a grassfire in South Australia's Mid North.
The 38-year-old father of two is a Country Fire Service (CFS) volunteer but was operating a farm fire unit when he ran into trouble.
He was airlifted by helicopter to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he is in a critical condition.
Two other firefighters were also injured in the blaze, while another crew of five had a lucky escape when the fire passed over them when their truck stalled.

Quick work from firefighters saved six homes which came under threat.
The CFS said 200 firefighters were were still mopping up at the scene on Friday evening.
According to CFS fire maps, more than 1800 hectares was blackened in the blaze.
The CFS said the fire started just before midday by a header reaping lentils.
