Missing WA mine worker found

A 47-year-old mine worker who went missing in Western Australia's Goldfields region has been found, having wandered away from his vehicle while disoriented.

Police said the man was undertaking exploration work on Monday afternoon and failed to return to the St Ives gold mine when he was due at 3.30pm.

He was spotted from a plane waving his shirt during a search on Tuesday.

The man had become disorientated and lost, and wound up about 4.5km away from his car at Half Way Dam.

He was uninjured but a little dehydrated and was taken to Kalgoorlie for medical assessment, police said.
