13-year-old charged with assault in Sydney

A 13-year-old boy has been charged after two alleged assaults in Sydney's inner west this week, including one attack at knife point.

At about 3pm on Monday a 15-year-old was waiting for a bus on Glebe Point Road, Glebe, when he was allegedly punched in the head by his younger attacker.

The older boy had swelling to his face and reported the incident to his school.

Around the same time on Wednesday afternoon he was walking on Darling Street, Balmain, when he was again approached by the 13-year-old.

The younger boy allegedly threatened the older boy with a knife before punching him in the face again, inflicting minor injuries.

Both attacks were then reported to police, who arrested the 13-year-old at a home in Pyrmont at around 10.30pm that night.

The teen was charged with intimidation, being armed with intent and two counts of assault.

He was granted conditional bail and will appear at a children's court on September 10.
