Five teens charged over Sydney bashing

Five teenage boys accused of bashing and robbing a man in Sydney's west will appear in a children's court next month.

The alleged incident occurred at about 11.30pm on August 15, when a 39-year-old man was sitting in his car at a Milperra park on Henry Lawson Drive, when five males surrounded him.

The teens, aged 16 and 17, allegedly punched the man in the head, dragged him from the car, then stole his mobile phone, wallet and a tool box from the car, police say.

The teens fled in another car, but the man, who sustained lacerations to his face, got the registration number and reported the incident to the police.

All five boys, who are from Smithfield and Panania, were charged with robbery in company and granted bail to appear at a children's court in October.
