Family escapes Glendinning house fire

A family has had a lucky escape after their western Sydney home was engulfed in flames.

A neighbour raised the alarm after hearing a popping noise, as the blaze took hold of the Glendenning home.

Richard told 7News: "Ran out, banged on the neighbour's door and windows - and apparently woke them up. They thought we were trying to rob the house. Woke them up. They jumped out of the house - the window and they survived."

A mother and her four-year-old twin sons were inside the house at the time of the blaze.

The cause is being investigated.
