Power fans prepare their MCG surge

Port Adelaide supporters are powering up for Saturday night’s do or die clash with Collingwood at the MCG on Saturday night.

More than 10,000 fans are expected to head to Victoria for the game, sparking a mad dash for tickets.

Only a handful of flights to Melbourne remain for Friday and Saturday, and will cost up to $300.

Other fans are taking the Overland train leaving on Friday morning, which will set them back $116.

But many others are hitting the road.

“We’ve got eight buses filled already so the cheer squad’s jumped in,” Port member services manager Matthew Richardson said.

“They’ve organised their four buses and we’ve organised another four buses ourselves.”

About 20,000 tickets to the game have already been sold.

Supporters trying to get tickets this morning were faced with delays as websites went into meltdown.

Port Power’s last final’s appearance was the 2007 grand final where they were belted by Geelong by 119 points.

Less than half a dozen players from that team will line up on Saturday night, one being captain Travis Boak.

“What I remember is how enjoyable it was, and that is what we are going to speak to the group about
This week is how enjoyable finals footy is,” Boak said.

Grand Final entertainment will feature an all-Australian line-up of Hunters and Collectors, Tina Area and Birds of Tokyo.
