WA baby murder accused called a 'dog'

A man charged with the murder of a two-year-old boy has been called a "dog" by the child's mother during a brief appearance in a Perth court.

Wayne Murray Narkle, 23, appeared via video link from Casuarina Prison on Wednesday at the Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court.

The boy's mother wept when Narkle appeared on the television screen, screaming: "You dog!"

Security staff had to calm the woman down and warned her to be quiet or she would be removed from the court.

Narkle has yet to plead to the murder charge and the case was adjourned until September 25.

Police were called to Swan Districts Hospital on December 30 last year after the child's mother found him unconscious at their home.

Narkle was arrested at a unit in Bassendean, in Perth's east.
