Man's death declared major crime

The death of a man whose body was found in a street in Adelaide’s north eastern suburbs has been declared a major crime.

Police said a motorist noticed the man’s body lying face down in a garden bed on Avenue Rd at Paradise at about 6.15am.

Details of the death have not been released, but police described it as ‘quite brutal’.

He has not yet been formally identified, but police believe it is a man aged in his 30s who worked in the city and left there to return home at 4.30pm.

The road and surround area have been cordoned off today while police investigate.

One resident nearby said their sensor light went off a few times early this morning, but that was a regular occurrence.

“It is quite scary because it is such a lovely neighbourhood, nice people,” the neighbour said.

“We have never had any problems before.”
