Shelter overwhelmed after 100 dogs seized

The RSPCA’s Lonsdale shelter has been overwhelmed after the society seized more than 100 dogs during a raid on a breeder yesterday.

It was acting on material gathered by animal activists, allegedly showing the dogs being kept in poor conditions at the property near Milang.

RSPCA chief executive Tim Vasudeva said many pregnant dogs were among those seized, as well as dogs with young pups.

“...We're just focused on getting them cared for and out into foster care at this point of time, so we're looking for members of the community that might be able to help us do that," he said.

Anyone who can assisting in the foster care of animals or can volunteer their time is asked to contact the RSPCA through its website or Facebook page.
