Elderly pedestrian killed as car rolls

Police are hunting for two men after a stolen car hit and killed an elderly pedestrian in Sydney's Macarthur region this morning.

The silver sedan veered off the road and flipped, uprooting a tree and ended up in the front yard of a home at Ambarvale.

The male driver and a male passenger climbed out of the wreckage and fled the scene, just before 11am.

It's believed the 70-year-old victim was walking along the footpath when he was struck.

He was taken to hospital but died a short time later.

Police are searching for a man who was wearing a black and red tracksuit, while the other was wearing a dark top and red tracksuit pants.

They were last seen running north towards Jarndyce Avenue.

Anyone with information is being warned not to approach them, but to contact Triple-0 immediately.
