Police searching for a man spotted in Sydney Boys High
Police are searching for a man who entered Sydney Boys High School this afternoon where he was challenged by a teacher, sparking a police operation.
The school of about 1,200 students was put into lockdown and evacuated to a nearby sports oval while the operation was underway but students were returned to the school a short time later.
Sydney Girls High was not evacuated during the operation.
The man who was last seen on the school grounds is described as being 20-years-old and 175cm tall with short dark hair.

He was wearing light-blue jeans, a white shirt and work or hiking boots and carrying a grey shopping bag.
Initial reports stated he was spotted with a weapon but police have clarified this was not correct and there have been no reports of injuries.

Cleveland Street between Anzac Parade and South Dowling Street was closed in both directions with buses being diverted from the area.

Commuters are warned there will be delays and some stops will be missed as buses are forced into alternative routes.
