Dave Grohl breaks leg live on stage, finishes concert

Is Dave Grohl the most hardcore performer on the planet?

After his most recent performance in Sweden, he may just be.

The rocker jumped down from the stage during a concert in Gothenburg and broke his leg in an epic tumble.

Instead of being whisked away immediately, Grohl sang through the pain and finished the whole song before he was taken off to receive medical attention.

The band continued playing, but a few songs later Grohl returned to the stage and finished the concert.

Of course, the Foo Fighters lead singer isn't the first to seriously harm himself on stage...

Katy Perry's slippery situation

Unfortunately for Ms Perry what happens in Mexico doesn't always stay in Mexico - especially when you're performing on live television.

The pop princess belted out her megahit "I Kissed A Girl" at the 'Los Premios MTV Latin America Awards in 2008, before jumping into a big pink cake.

But the sweet performance suddenly soured when, covered in cake, Perry slipped over and was forced to crawl on her knees.

Janet's Superbowl nip-slip

Speaking of slippery situations, debate still surrounds Janet Jackson's 'accidental' wardrobe malfunction at the 2004 Superbowl Halftime show.

Jackson's performance in 2004 really wasn't that bad, until that moment Justin Timberlake tore off part of her top exposing her breast.

It was perfectly timed to coincide with the line from JT's 'Rock Your Body' hit "gonna have you naked by the end of this song".

"Janet Jackson engineered it," MTV Chief Executive Tom Freston told Reuters in the wake of the scandal.

Robbie cracks-up crowd after falling on stage

Robbie Williams managed to prove why he's one of the world's best entertainers when he made the most of an awkward tumble a during a live performance in the UK in 2008.

Williams shows us how the simple act of walking on stage can be surprisingly difficult, whilst ironically singing Lou Reed's classic "Take A Walk On The Wildside".

He steps forward then clicks his heels, but fails to execute the landing, instead slipping onto his side, where he rests for a little while.

"That was a bit embarrassing! That'll teach me for being cocky won't it," Williams tells the crowd with a ponderous look on his face.

"That's not the end of the song... I thought I'd walk over there and sing it nicely, but I fell over like a tw*t!"

It was a less violent tumble than the one he took last year in which he broke a fans arm when he fell down during his Swings Both Ways show in Newcastle.

The daughter of injured Margaret Nash, 52, Tweeted Williams: 'You fell on my mam and she has been in hospital since with a broken arm. You never even said sorry.'

Bono takes a tumble

It seems Williams and U2 frontman Bono may have been exchanging notes when it comes to recovering from a stage dive.

The leather-clad veteran rocker took a few steps forward and then one ill-placed step back, which saw him go down infront of a packed crowd.

Madonna 'fall out'

It's the fall that had plenty of people talking.

The 56-year-old singer fell down a set of stairs during a performance of her single 'Living For Love' at the event at London's O2 Arena, but she insisted the hurt she suffered was nothing in comparison to the rough and tumble of her 'MDNA' tour in 2012.

She told 'The Jonathan Ross Show': "It was pretty dangerous. I got punched a lot. What's a little fall off the stage compared to my last tour? Seriously. I got punched all the time."

Meanwhile, Madonna recently claimed she was not seriously hurt at the BRITs because she knows how to fall safely - and because a "guardian angel" was looking out for her".

She explained: "I have core strength, and I know that saved me. That and my guardian angels. I believe that there's the physical world and the metaphysical world and I do believe that they are intertwined - as above, so below. So I think both were at work in the protection of me."

And the singer said her heart was beating so fast at the time, she didn't have time to stop and think about the incident.

She said: "I just remember falling backward, and I hit the back of my head. But I had so much adrenaline pumping, and I was so taken by surprise that I just was, OK, I have to keep going. So I just got back onstage and I just kept going."

Like a trooper, she got up and finished the number.

Beyonce’s bad hair day

Beyonce caused panic at a concert in Montreal, Canada during her 'Mrs.Carter Show World Tour' when her blonde locks became stuck in the blades of a large fan blowing air onto her.

She sat next to the fan - which was perched on the edge of the stage - for her finale performance of 'Halo' when it became apparent her tightly curled hair had been sucked into the machine.

The 31-year-old pop megastar wasn't perturbed by the hair-raising mishap, and continued to belt out the anthem as distressed (human) fans looked on.

The singer managed to see the funny side as she later posted a handwritten note on Instagram for fans describing what happened.

Reworking the lyrics to 'Halo' to include the incident she wrote: "Gravity can't begin to pull me out of the fan again."

Ashlee Simpson's awkward lip-sync fail

It's been more than 10 years since Ashlee Simpson's epic lip-sync slip up, and this clip is still quite painful to watch.

Performing on Saturday Night Live in 2004, Ashlee 'sang' her first song, "Pieces of Me," without a hiccup.

That was until she went to belt out her next track, but the vocals for "Pieces of Me" replayed.

Ash kind of freaked, and then busted into a strange little hoedown.

"I think my drummer got like really excited and maybe a little bit nervous and he pressed the wrong button," Simpson later said.

"I was like okay, I think I've done the hoedown long enough... maybe I should walk off."

Cliff diver smashes head at Red Bull World Series

Every diver's worst nightmare came true at the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series recently.

American Steven LoBue smashed his head on the diving board while attempting a back triple somersault with four twists from 27.5 metres high.

Despite the mishap, LoBue managed to land feet first in the water as intended.

"I think that one just got the better of me a little bit but I made it down to the water safely. I finished the whole dive so happy about that.

"Just kind of got to shake it off and get ready for Texas", LeBue said just minutes after his blunder.

Stage collapses during concert rehearsal

At least 12 people were injured during a stage collapse during a school performance in China's south.

The choir fell through a floor when the stage they were on buckled.

There were a few injuries but none were life threatening.

Acrobat Falls 25 Feet

A circus performer is recovering after plunging nearly 25 feet during a performance.

Vicky Garcia fell while performing in Houston. Footage of the accident, captured by a spectator, shows Garcia spinning over the audience - hanging from her hair from a replica rocket ship - before plunging into the arena’s seating area.

After Garcia fell, staffers rushed to help her.

Garcia is one half of “Duo Garcia,” along with husband Pablo, for the Circo Hermanos Vazquez, a traveling circus known for its daredevil acrobatics.

Leena Vignaud, the general manager of the circus, said these sorts of incidents happen from time to time.

“We do have acts that require a lot of skills and, of course, we do have equipment behind it," Vignaud said. "Let’s call it a human error. Sometimes things happen.”

Garcia only suffered bruises and has been cleared to return to work, according to ABC station KTRK-TV.
