Lightning bolt strikes just metres from teen
A Texas teen had an incredibly close call with a bolt of lightning while boating on Lake Athens.
The video uploaded by 16-year-old Tucker Owings shows just how close he came to being one of the unfortunate souls struck by lightning each year.
It's only a short clip, but it's long enough to serve as a reminder to everyone that when a storm hits, get out of the water quick. No dilly-dallying.
Commenters on Facebook chimed in with amazement, not only at the footage but also at Owings' good luck.
One person posted, "Watch the storm clouds a little closer next time." And another wrote, "Is there a not-so-subtle lesson to be learned here?"
