Boy, 12, charged over alleged stabbing of 10-year-old in Sydney
A 12-year-old boy has been charged over the alleged stabbing of a 10-year-old child in Sydney on Saturday.
Police say about 12.15pm on May 20 paramedics were called to John Street, Waterloo, where they found the alleged child victim with a torso wound.
He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to the Prince of Wales Children’s Hospital in a stable condition.
Police attached to Redfern Local Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.
Three boys – two aged 12 and one aged 16 – were arrested at the scene and taken to Redfern Police Station.
A 12-year-old boy has now been charged with assault with intent to rob, while armed with an offensive weapon causing wounding.
He was refused bail to appear in a children’s court later today.
The other two boys have been released without charge.
The injured boy has also been released from hospital.
