Rolf Harris set to be released from prison 'in six weeks'

It has been reported that convicted paedophile Rolf Harris is set to be released from prison in just six weeks, after serving roughly half of his six-year sentence.

The 87-year-old TV star has reportedly been told that he will be out of Stafford prison in the third week of June, and Harris is expected to rush to his sick wife’s bedside.

Speaking to The Mirror, an insider explained: “Rolf is now counting down the days. He isn’t enjoying jail life at all and is desperate to get out.

“His wife Alwen is 85 and has been in failing health, so he wants to be reunited with her as soon as possible.”

Harris will be leaving prison a month earlier than expected, with the Australian star being jailed for five years and nine months in July 2014 after being convicted of 12 indecent assaults against four girls, with the youngest aged seven, between 1968 and 1986.

He was cleared of three further sex assaults in February this year but has a retrial for three charges that the jury were unable to reach a verdict on plus one new count is set to be heard at the crown court next Monday [15th May].

If found guilty, he’ll likely face more time in jail.

It has previously been reported that Harris is a popular inmate at Stafford prison and that he has been filling his time writing murder mystery novels.

The star has a multi-million dollar fortune from his extensive TV and music career, which spanned over 50 years.
