Couple's removal van knocked over by truck on Sydney's M4

A couple trying to move house instead spent the day in hospital after the moving truck they were driving was side-swiped on Sydney’s M4.

They told 7 News they were side-swiped by a bigger truck on Friday.

It's claimed the driver did not stop to help and allegedly remains on the run.

The couple has appealed to the driver to come forward.

The man required seven stitches to the head after the hire truck was hit by a heavy vehicle on the major motorway in Sydney's west.

Police have warned that they have all trucking companies and drivers in their sights.

“When heavy vehicles are involved in a serious incident on any road in NSW, the heavy vehicle taskforce will look at that incident, review it and if required we will go and speak to that company,” Inspector Rob Toynton said.

The company whose driver allegedly caused a crash on the Cahill Expressway in December was raided within 24 hours. That driver faced court on Friday.

Rami Al-Badrani admitted to driving while disqualified but denied the remaining charges including negligent driving.

Police alleged Mr Al-Badrani used a fake license with a fake name and address after he was arrested for the crash.

This is something his lawyer will dispute, along with three other charges, saying the accused has a valid license from Queensland.
